This was my first time shooting a wedding at the beautiful Garden Court at Hanbury Manor near Ware. It was an unforgettable experience. Simone and Chris had known one another for many years and were just so kind and loving to one another. You could feel the happiness and heightened emotion from friends and family on this special day too. I’m sure that the recent loss of Chris’ much loved dad Les just added to the sentiment. So, it was very moving to hear that they used Les’ wedding ring to make their own wedding rings. I think that’s a beautiful idea.
Simone and her bridesmaids spent a relaxed morning getting ready in one of the beautiful rooms in the main house of Hanbury Manor. For fun, the bridal party took golf buggies from there to the conservatory of the Garden Court. Chris and his son Nick anxiously waited for their arrival. As a wedding photographer you can’t but get caught up in the intimacy of these moments and I’m sure my viewfinder went a little misty on a few occasions during the wedding ceremony!
As it turns out, this wasn’t the only time. The speeches were all emotionally charged too. Once again, the love between Chris and Simone was blindingly obvious for all to witness. But, I’m sure it was Nick’s speech which finally finished everyone off. I’ve listened to a few best man speeches in my time but this was probably one of the most beautifully composed and eloquently presented. It came right from the heart and I doubt if there was a dry eye in the room. I thought it was so fitting that he was appreciatively mobbed by the ladies when he finished. I have no doubt that Simone and Chris were brimming with pride as they listened to Nick as he shared so many beautiful memories.
On top of all that, their mothers, Yvette and Jan, were clearly bursting with happiness throughout the day. From the special moments they spent together you could tangibly feel the close bond that there was between the families.
This is one wedding that I will always remember and it was such a privilege to be chosen as Simone and Chris’ Hertfordshire wedding photographer. I wish them a long and happy life together!

Your photos should have arrived today so I’m sure you’ll both be going through them this evening. I’ll be adding a highlights video to this blog post later so you’ll have two versions to watch! Thanks again,

Now that we’ve had a chance to look at our photographs and the beautiful slideshow properly, I wanted to write to say that since we first met you Graham, we felt that our special occasion was in safe hands. Chris has never been
keen on having his photograph taken but you soon put him at ease and we both felt so relaxed during our engagement shoot and that is evident in the results. We really enjoyed having you both there on the day of our wedding, from getting ready in the morning until we hit the dancefloor
in the evening, everything felt very natural.
We are thrilled with our photographs and the slide show which had not only Chris and I but our friends and family
in tears again!!!
Thanks again Graham for being part of and recording so well our amazing Day. Love Simone and Chris xx
