A Romantic and Intimate Mallorca Finca Wedding at Pedruxella Gran
As a wedding photographer, I find there is something very special about a Mallorca finca wedding. They have a lovely vibe. Without doubt, they are ideally suited to anyone looking for a more intimate and relaxed destination wedding.
Mallorca is full of unique fincas. They are often situated in beautiful countryside surrounded by olive trees and dark starry skies. This is another one of our favourite finca weddings. Besides the occasional clanking of goat bells the only other sound on a warm evening will be the clinking of wine glasses!
Monique had previously lived in Mallorca and obviously fallen in love with the island. So, it was no surprise that this was where she would get married one day.
I was delighted to hear that Alex and Monique had chosen Pedruxella Gran for their intimate finca wedding. Parts of this extensive estate date back to a Moorish tower of the 11th century. It is set in a beautiful, peaceful location in the Tramuntana mountains outside Pollensa and is full of interest and history. Definitely a great location for nature lovers and artists.
We arranged to meet Monique and Alex in Pollensa for a drink and chat in a local bar. It was so lovely to meet some of their family and friends too. Afterwards, we left for an hour or so for relaxed pre-wedding photoshoot around the back streets of the town.
On the wedding day, we were warmly greeted when we turned up at the finca for the bridal preparations. Everyone was very chilled and relaxed as the day unfolded. That’s a finca wedding vibe!

Soon afterwards, the caterers and florist arrived. They did a grand job laying up the long table outside the courtyard ready for the wedding breakfast. Meanwhile, Monique and her friends and family were busy setting up the area below the finca reserved for the wedding ceremony. Tying up photos, decorations and lots of other personal touches just added to the intimate feel they wanted.
Monique’s mum certainly put her extensive make-up experience to good use. Luckily for me, this all made for some touching mother and daughter moments. On top of this, Monique had collected some thoughtful personal gifts to hand out. Without doubt, it’s all gold dust for a wedding photographer!

The guests assembled for the mid-afternoon wedding on the lower terrace. Meanwhile, the bridal party was almost ready to meet them. It was now time for me to make my way down the staircase. I just happened to glance back towards the bridal suite. At that moment, I could see Monique beautiful framed in the doorway. She didn’t me as her bridesmaids were making final touches to her dress and bouquet. She looked absolutely stunning! I couldn’t miss the opportunity to take a few more photos, and I’m so glad I did.

The bridal party made their way down to the courtyard entrance. However, it turned out that some last-minute changes were necessary to the dress. So the guests would have to wait a little longer. Impressively, everyone sprung in to action. A few minutes later the bridal party descended the terracing.

How must Alex have felt as he watched his beautiful bride elegantly descend the steps? Monique’s mum waited proudly, ready to escort her down the aisle towards Alex. Rather touchingly, Monique removed a white rose from her bouquet and passed it over to Grandma May.

Annie conducted a really beautiful outdoor ceremony with some lovely touches in a tranquil, intimate setting. Perfect and certainly very memorable!

The speeches entertained everyone after a wonderful relaxed wedding breakfast served in the late afternoon sun. A perfect mix of humour, love and emotion captured the mood of the day. You can enjoy a few snippets in the photofilm below.

I have definitely become a real fan of outdoor wedding ceremonies. Obviously, this is one of the advantages of a destination wedding in a warm climate like Mallorca. Finca weddings are particularly special as each place has its own particular charm and character. Pedruxella Gran is certainly a venue worthy of consideration.
I can’t thank Monique and Alex enough for all their warmth and kindness. They treated us like old friends. I wish them every happiness for their future together.
